Children of Compost is a fashion project by camille rahe townson.

Founded with the values of creative reuse and queer expression, Children of Compost* focuses on genderless garments made from 100% reused materials. Each piece is handmade in my Chicago home studio and is one-of-a-kind.

Taking its name from a Donna Haraway short story on post-human chimera species, Children of Compost explores mutations, cycles, and odd couplings.

My small press, chimera projects, produces limited-run art books and zines using discarded fibers.

DIY or die!

* Compost is a material and lifesource which derives its character from all that it has decomposed. Transformation from grief and through community lies at its center.
